Long ago, on a little farm, Farmer Gilbert was getting ready for dinner. His wife wanted a turkey for dinner, and since they had 500,000 turkeys, he decided to kill one. He grabbed his fattest turkey. He tied him up to a tree and went to get his ax.

While he was gone, the turkey’s best friend, Lou Pig, came and saved him. He said, “Mr. Turkey, you’ve got to run away from this place—far, far away! I’ll come with you. Let’s go.”

Mr. Turkey and Lou Pig ran far, far away from the farm. They didn’t know anything about the outside world, so they were kind of scared. They didn’t know where to go or what would become of them.
